This past weekend I took a little road trip to Fort Mill, South Carolina for an outdoor maternity photoshoot. My client chose to have her maternity photos taken at the Anne Springs Close Greenway in Fort Mill, South Carolina. She’s expecting her second child in May 2021 and she and her family are very excited to welcome a baby boy into their family very soon!
Their daughter, Campbell, just turned five years old this year and she is looking forward to becoming a big sister! During these maternity photos, Campbell was talking about putting gummy bears on Carey’s belly and watching the baby move while her gummy bears bounce around. It's moments like these you never want to forget as an expecting mother.
Carey was right at 34 weeks into her pregnancy when we took these photos. When my maternity clients ask when they should have their maternity photos taken I always recommend we take them at or around 34 weeks. Of course, it is 100% up to you and when you want to have your photos taken. Based on my professional photography experience working with maternity clients, that 34-week mark in your pregnancy is the “sweet spot”. This is when you’re showing, you aren’t waddling around *quite* yet, and you are getting closer and closer to your baby’s arrival.
In 1995, the Anne Springs Close Greenway, a 2,100-acre nature preserve in Fort Mill, South Carolina, was dedicated to the public to serve as a natural buffer from urban development and a place for countless activities – from hiking, mountain biking, and horseback riding, to picnics, kayaking and more. We didn’t venture off too far from the Dairy Barn but it was easy to see the wide variety of outdoor activities during our time there.
