Summer is officially here and I’m dishing out my top 5 must-haves for summer. Summer is my all-time favorite season and I always like to be well equipped to make sure I’m ready to enjoy every little moment of summer! Here are my 5 must-haves for summer!
1) Prescription sunglasses
I don’t go ANYWHERE without my prescription sunglasses. Contact lenses aren’t necessary for me, but, I’ve found that prescription sunglasses really help me while I’m driving or out and about. It makes sitting on the beach more enjoyable as well so I’m not squinting trying to see the dolphins in the surf off the coast of Sunset Beach. These two pairs I recently picked up from EyeBuyDirect. I’ve always ordered my glasses from them and they usually have discounts and promotions going on year-round. I’ve had really good luck with ordering from them and I will continue to order more! Highly recommend!
2) Simple makeup routine
When you’re outside sweating for most of the day in the heat of the summer, you want to make sure you aren’t putting on layers of makeup just for it to slide off your face. So, I’ve opted for a simple makeup routine that consists of a lightweight base foundation with SPF and a hint of Cloud Paint from Glossier. I also add a little lip balm to go with it and then I’m all set to walk out the door to head to the pool, out to run errands, or headed to a cookout with some friends.
3) Insulated Wine Tumbler
If you drink “rose all day” like I do in the summer, then you NEED an insulated wine tumbler. You can use it for chilled wine or ice-cold cocktails. Perfect for using any time of the year, but I use mine especially in the summer months.
4) Mini wallet
So, this is the perfect accessory to bring to the pool or the beach in the summer. NO ONE wants to drag their entire purse out to the beach or the pool in the summer. This mini wallet is handcrafted and hand-painted by the extremely talented Nazz Ares in Raleigh, NC. The artist, Fernanda, who makes these has an amazing eye for design and artistic expression. She has several other designs to choose from and each one is unique in its own way.
5) Floppy Hat
Protecting your precious face from the sun is super important! When I’m on the beach or at the pool this is my go-to hat. It’s lightweight, comfortable, and breathable. I lean towards lighter-colored hats because they don’t attract as much sun as darker-colored hats. Also, if you color or highlight your hair, it’s good to wear a hat when you’re out in the sun to protect your hair color. This one is from the San Diego Hat Company.
